SANGRIAAAAAAA. hi it's time for some sangria with the most amazing citrus-y fruits ever.
EVERRRR.
because i'm obsessed and you need to be too. LETS DO THIS.
originally, i meant to share this with you in like FEBRUARY. what?! time just has FLOWN by.
butttt alas. here we are on a thirsty thursday discussing an amazingly light sangria.
winning? winning.
here's the thing. my favorite part of sangria is DEFINITELY the fruit. the booze soaked fruit. and like can we all agree that out of traditional sangria fruits, apple is the best?
well. good thing we're not using traditionals here. bRING ON THE BLOOD ORANGES. because hello amazingly gorgeous COLOR.
and then i also would like some grapefruit because HEY we're using sweet white wine, so i want something tart to cut the sweetness. yes.
can i tell you a secret? i used to only like white wines. specifically riesling or moscato.
wanna know another secret? i now almost exclusively drink reds. WHO AM I. give me a malbec and i'm golden.
GOOD NEWS is that this is more like a fruity wine spritzer so it's okay.
NOBODY PANIC.
you coulddddd use champagne instead of moscato… but i like to get my bubbles from….
LA CROIX. because i'm fangirl obsessed with the stuff. the end. (noooo one knows that right?!)
anyway. LET'S MAKE THIS THIS WEEKEND GUYS. LETS HAVE A PARTY! Invite me. don't leave me out. please. i'll love you forever.
White Citrus Sangria
- Prep Time: 2 hours
- Cook Time: 5 mins
- Total Time: 2 hours 5 minutes
- Yield: 6-8 people 1x
Ingredients
- 1 bottle sweet white wine
- 2 grapefruit
- 2 blood orange
- 1 navel orange
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup citrus or grapefruit vodka
- 1/4 cup triple sec
- citrus flavored sparkling water, used at serving
Instructions
- Slice your citrus fruits and cut the slices into quarters or halves.
- Combine all ingredients, except the seltzer water, in a pitcher.
- Refrigerate at least two hours (also for the sake of being honest… frankie loved it even without giving it time to mellow out the wine… so there's that if you're in a time pinch!).
- When ready to serve, fill a glass with ice and fruit from the pitcher. Pour seltzer water into the bottom of the glass (i fill the water up about an inch from the bottom, but its personal preference – to make a spritzer fill the glass halfway). Fill the rest of the glass with the sangria and serve!
is it even a beard pic if he basically didn't have a beard? womp womp.
